Welcome to Park House Farm, an Organic farm on the edge of the Northumberland National Park in the upper reaches of the Coquet Valley. The farm has been organic since 2006 and is managed in an environmentally sensitive manner. Protecting and enhancing our ecosystems is fully embedded at the core of our values.
We are currently in a Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship program and prior to that we were in multiple Higher Tier Stewardship programs from the early 2000's.
The farm is home to a diverse range of Fauna and Flora, with Permanent Species-Rich Pasture, Woodland & Scrubland, Historic Upland Hay Meadows, and SSSI’s on the banks of the Coquet River. We are very proud to protect some of the UK's Endangered, Red Listed and Amber Listed species.
Park House Farm is a mixed livestock farm, with a herd of Heritage Galloway cattle and a rare breed Whitebred Shorthorn Bull, which produce Blue Grey cattle, alongside a flock of North Country Cheviot sheep. These are all housed outside and fed a 100% grass based natural diet allowing us to produce top quality organic Beef and Lamb in an environmentally sustainable manner.
In the mid 1990’s we started a program of restoring historic Hedges, planting new Hedges, expanding Woodland & Scrubland areas, enabling us to farm in conjunction with Wildlife and Environmental conservation efforts. During this period up to 2023, we have increased the length of Hedges by 1,895%, and expanded our Woodland & Scrubland areas by 207%. The number of Ponds and Wetland scrapes has increase from one to five, we also have two sections of cover crops totalling 3.7 acres dedicated solely to Wild bird winter feed.
Our plan for the future, will enable us to add a further 2km of Hedges by 2026, and by 2029 an additional 2km are planned, this continued expansion will result in Wildlife corridors covering the whole farm.
We also offer Wild Camping adventures nestled next to a Bronze Age Hill Enclosure with views up and down the Coquet Valley in conjunction with WildWithConsent.com. This site has stunning views of the Northumberland National Park in the day and the Milky Way at night, due to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, making the site a truly special experience.
